Tech - Graphics
This Friday was our last week at the Graphics rotation. I've finished my board, and found myself game pieces although they weren't what I had planned. I was moving around fast because we didn't have much time until the session was over, meaning I couldn't paint anything. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use the best of what I had because half of the time I spent outside with Miiana. This was annoying because I couldn't get what I needed to get done, done. The reason I was sent outside on the steps, was completely off to what really happened. My last day made an effect to my whole experience there and it was not good. I couldn't say that I loved graphics, but I definitely learned new things which is what matters. If I go there again, next time I would work faster to get things done.

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can our theme is Re-silence and our topic is self-control. Our focus for today was distraction and focus. Our activity to really understand this, was a group experiment. Four people would be doing different things to the person in the middle like singing, telling a story, tracing a number on their back, and getting them to copy your actions. We each got a turn being the person in the middle and experienced being distracted. I couldn't focus on everyone, but whilst I was following Eyaka's actions, I heard Ellenora telling a story about the three little pigs, and Sela singing twinkle twinkle. Alina didn't draw anything, but her number was 3. Our energiser was something similar to the Mexican wave, but a little more complex. We were in a circle, and had to put our right hand of our left hand and leave them on the floor. We would g around doing the same hand rhythms.

Plastic Straws | Perspectives & Opinions
Our opinions are statements of what we believe, and the way we look at things. And can't be factually proven or checked like "dogs are better than cats." But a fact is something that is true and literal, like there are 12 months in a year. A perspective is similar to an opinion but it's how we see things in our own way. Sometimes they can be provocations, something to make someone else feel a type of way. For writing, we explored more into plastic straws and both of the sides on it. Weather we should keep them or ban them. Florence and I worked together on this activity, and think a little bit of both sides but more of on the side that we should keep them.

Tech w/ Mrs Ferguson | Graphics
This week for Tech I've already finished making my Tic Tac Toe Board. I have sanded my pieces, glued my two main square cut layers together, and glued that to the base of my board. I went back on tinker-cad to look at my different game pieces, and I finished my Design Development Presentation. Mrs. Ferguson reminded the year 7's that not everyone will have a completed game by next week, since it is the last week of the Graphics Rotation. But she also said she will finish them off in the following weeks and deliver them to us when she comes for inquiry Mondays. Next week I hope to get some of my game pieces made, since I need 9 copies of each.

Persuasive Speech - Maori Education
MAORI EDUCATION
Why should Maori be our only language subject? We as students have a role, and encouragement in choosing this, right? But we don’t. And should we continue having ineffective Te reo Maori lessons? - I’m Victoria; an african american and tongan student, making this speech to get YOU on MY side.
I understand we live in Aotearoa, maori land, but I can argue as a multicultural school we should be able to express our different ethnicities in our work. Learning about Maori history and Maori religion is getting old, and let’s be honest, boring.
We are forced to learn about the Maori culture even if it isn’t our own. I could speak for several people when I say that I would rather be learning about who I am, than a culture that has totally different beliefs.
The New Zealand education act in 1989 shows a charter that made a school-system development relate in Maori culture, and provide Te reo maori. But we need a change! And not just to benefit the education of our New Zealand students, but for a wider learning experience.
Learning NEW languages will improve our relationships with peers from out of New Zealand. We can learn to understand them, and even start conversation. This wouldn’t need a fluent teacher like Ms. Whaea Odi. Using the technology we have today, we would be able all that we need.
So in conclusion, Maori should NOT be our only language focus and we SHOULD have the possible choice of choosing the culture that we want to learn about.
L.I: To write a speech that persuades others to think the way you do.
Preforming my speech to a small group of 3 I can say that I was expressive and very emotive with my speech, trying to get high marks. I gave eye contact, and knew majority of my speech off by heart. I could improve though by slowing down with my words and provoking my voice more.

Tech @Tamaki College w/ Mrs. Ferguson (Graphics)
This week at tech, the year 7's continued planning and creating their 3D games. I've finally made my Tic Tac Toe board using the laser cutter, and Mrs. Ferguson's help. There were separate pieces to put together that had to be aligned in a certain way, then were glued together. Now I am planning the actual game pieces on tinker-cad. I wanted them to be other than a cross and circle. What I have in mind are fruit shapes or heart and stars. I hope to finish before the term and play other peers games too.

RISE UP: The Dawn Raids and Polynesian Panthers
This week for Reading we looked at the New Zealand history between the Polynesians and Maori. We looked at videos, and the full story to get an idea. As a group, we questioned others and replied to comments given to us about the topic. We then made a DLO explaining the story and the 2 main perspectives. Which were the Polynesians side and the police's side. Using our prior knowledge about the story and the other perspectives, we made our own opinion. I think my peers and I found this story very interesting and I am glad this had been brung up.

Tech - Graphics w/ Mrs. Ferguson
This week at tech we started creating the pieces for our 3D Games. Planning them on tinker-cad, and sending it to Mrs. Ferguson. I am still creating the "Tic tac toe" pieces but hearts and stars instead. We even used Plasticine to create the real life design. I need to make 9 of these and still need to create the game board. Some of us used Thingiverse to look at the creations for the related subjects.

Tech | Graphics
This week at tech with Mrs. Ferguson, we continued structuring our 3D games. We took a look at tinker-cad again, trying to finish our 3D recreation of Mrs. Anderson. I am still working on my Tic Tac Toe game, making my board and planning my banana and apple playing pieces. Mrs. Ferguson helped me laser cut the paper, and I used tinker cad to help figure out the size and what the "tic tac toe" pieces will look like.
Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can, we were looking at emotions and how we express them. Our theme is resilience, which means to get back up and keep trying. To warm up, we gave 10 other people high-fives, and tried explaining how it made us feel. I felt in a hurry to get 10 even though it didn't really matter. We discussed the feelings we might feel, when we might feel it, and what shows that we are feeling it. Our activity was a role play using no words. In small groups, we were given a piece of paper with a scenario to act out together. Chavda, Florence, Fui, Nyjah, and I were given "On stage at a talent show". We would have to somehow show what emotions could be expressed by this. We showed this by Nyjah and Fui (the contestants), preforming a dance in front of Chavda, Florence, and I (the judges). The contests would then show their feelings of sadness, and anger. We all came back after everyone's acting, and discussed what feelings were shown in each one, and what was going on.
