Doraemon
This week for cyber-smart we had to create a google slide about one of the characters called "Doraemon" or "Anpanman". First we had to get into a group of 4 or 5. In my group there was Viliami, Ellenora, Sione A, and Jordan. We decided to do Doraemon. Before making the google slide, the whole class discussed the things we needed to make the google slide. Like researching and what we have to research and etc. In the slide we included information like - Who is Doraemon, What he dislikes and likes, Who invented Doraemon, and What is their medium/media.

Zombies Recount
This week for writing we had to write a recount using the different writing skills we learnt this term. Our recount was about playing a game called "Zombies" on Monday. We first discussed all the writing strategies and skills we learnt throughout the whole term. Then we learnt the instructions before actually playing the "Zombies". Once we understood how to play we went outside and had 5 rounds of the game before coming back inside. Afterwards we used a recount planner to help plan out our recount then wrote it our writing DLO "My Writing Journey". We had to write the recount using all the skills we learnt and putting our learning into practise. You can read my recount above.

LS1 Minute To Win It Mini Olympics Relflection
For the past weeks LS1 have been having a minute to win it mini Olympics. This week we had our final games in the hall. Only 6 minute to win it activities would be held there and those 7 games we would be the 7 past games we had through the weeks. The activities were - Back Flip, Bit Dicey, Stack Attack, Floatacious, This Blows, and Ready Spaghetti. Then we had to fill out a google sheets that shows who in our team would be doing which activity. Chris did back flip, I did Bit dicey, Jordan did Stack Attack, Farzana did Floatacious, Sakina did This Blows, and Chris & Farzana did Ready Spaghetti. Also in the past weeks we have been having the minute to win it mini Olympics we have chosen a Emblem, Motto, Whakatauki, Entrance song. Our entrance song was the Thunder Instrumental. I won a gold for my team, and came first in bit dicey with 43 seconds. Sakina got 23 seconds in this blows, Farzana & Chris tied with 3 other teams in Ready Spaghetti by being only 1 can within in the one minute, Jordan wasn't able to complete Stack Attack in a minute, Farzana was close but couldn't do floatacious in a minute, and lastly Chris got 6 pencils in a minute. Unfortunately I was not able to upload the video of my win of Bit Dicey but I was able to get the video of me trying to stack the dice (the camera didn't catch me winning). I think that this terms inquiry was very fun, even though I failed at a lot of games. Inquiry this term was not only to have fun but to show the values and qualities in a person that makes a good team.

L.I: To carry out colum addition and subtraction with whole numbers of up to four digits.
This week for inquiry we learnt a a new game. We had to create a DLO making a digital version of it and create a screencastify to show how it works. We also had to solve 4 subtraction equations using standard writing form. In the screencastify I explain to you how to play and what you need to play. The 4 subtraction equations we had to solve were - 45 -17, 234 - 167, 1234 - 987, and 23.4 - 16.7.

Commonwealth Games Poster
LI: To create a DLO showing information about the Commonwealth games. This week for inquiry we had to make a DLO about the Commonwealth games. First we had to find information about the Commonwealth games. We needed to use our smart searching skills to find out information. The things that we had to find was a map of where the Commonwealth games is, how far it is from Panmure Bridge school, how many countries are competing, the motto and logo for this years game, information on 3 New Zealand medallists, who the 3 medallists are, what sports they do, what was their winning time and who Sophie Pascoe is. For the DLO we decided to do a google draw. For the google draw we had to make sure our print design rules were good. The print design rules are text, colour, composition and layout. We had to show our DLO to Mr. Wong, so he could check if the print design rules were good. I think that the LS1 minute to win it Olympics is really fun because we get to learn new minute to win it activities every week this term.

Making Connections
L.I: To make connections to a text.
L.I: To create a DLO showing your understanding of the reading strategy - Making connections.
This week for reading all of the groups had to read an article called "Gold and two silver medals for kiwi cyclist". We also talked about the reading strategy - Making Connections. Then we had we had to go on to a google presentation so that we could make our own connections to the article that we read. There are 3 different types of connections you can make - Text to self, Text to text, and Text to world. I explain what each of them mean and how how you can make a connection for them. I also explain what making connection means. I even linked a photo to the site in the poster/DLO I made so that you can read it, with it I gave some examples of each of the connection types made from the article.

Smart & Care Values - Co-operation
L.I: To compare Smart Values with the Panmure Bridge School Care Values.
This week for our cyber-smart session we learnt about the different smart values which are - Learning, Hope, Service, Co-operation, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Joy. Our school care values are - Confidence, Attitude, Respect, Excellence and Innovation. First we had to get into a group, in my group I worked with Farzana, Fanini, Jerome and Sakina. Then we had to create a DLO that shows how the smart values align with the care values. Our real work we had to do was to create DLO showing how smart values are used in the classroom. My group and I created a google draw. We could only choose one smart value and my group decided to do cooperation.

Homophones
L.I: To identify the differences in meaning between common homophones.
Today for writing we learnt about different examples of homophones and what it means. Homophone means words that sound that same but have different meanings. For example - bear and bare, bear as in the type of animal and bare as in no shoes. We first watched a short clip which explained homophone in more detail so that we could understand. Our work this week was to make a copy of a google presentation which had different examples of homophones and we had to find labelled for reuse photos for them and attribute them. We also had to use the word in a sentence so that viewers can tell which is which. On the google presentation there was also 3 extra slides for us to think of our own homophones but I did 4. Not only are there 2 word homophones but also three! The 4 different homophones I came up with were - Would/Wood, Hair/Hare, Here/Hear, and Whole/Hole. This writing session was very fun to learn something knew and being able to practise doing it.

Blog Commenting
Today I commented on Raera's blog post. I commented on her Whakatauki post. I think she did a fantastic job. I also finished coming up with a team Whakatauki with my group. I really liked her Whakatauki her and her team came up and how it relates to them as a team. I also like their emblem they made as well. I just wanted to know if she found coming up with a Whakatauki hard in anyway because my team did struggle for a bit before coming up with it.

Kiwi Can
Today LS1 had Kiwi can in room 7 with Miss Lily and Mr Matt. We are still focusing on conflict resolution and positive relation ships which are our theme and topic. First they had us get into 4 lines then started off the kiwi can session by talking recapping about conflict resolution. We talked about what it means, conflict means argument/fight/problem and resolution means solution/solving. Our energiser was an activity called create me. Everyone was number off from 1 to 5. Then after one of the leaders gave us a object or something we had to create it. Everyone in the team had to be included in it. In my team there was - Matthew, Alayah, Jayden, Fanini, Sila, and Ellenora. After that we came back on the mat and talked about talked about what we did in that activity. Then we went outside onto the netball court and only played a short game of stuck in the mud. For this game there can be 1 or more taggers and a row of people. The tagger/s had to try to tag all the runners. We weren't able to complete one whole round before it started to rain so we sadly had to go back inside and do something else. We were about to play GKQ but we wanted to do something else. So we played bang. For this game you have to stand in a circle with one person in the middle who calls out a name. That person whos name was called out has to duck and the two people beside that person needs to call out bang before the anyone does. Whoever said bang first was still in and the other person was out. Then as more people got out the circle began smaller and smaller. Just until the last two people. The special word for the first round was banana, then the next rounds special word was pie. There is also a new action added to our goodbye chant.
ABAN Whakatauki
L.I: To create your own team Whakatauki.
This week for inquiry we had to create a whakatauki for our team. A whakatauki that tells you about us as a time. We have already created team emblems and motto's. Our whakatauki is - Work as a team,
Improve as a team, Co-operate as a team, We strive together. Our whakatauki represents how we can strive by working together and co-operating together, and by improving. This also shows that we are a team. We also have to find out an entrance song for the final week of the mini minute to win it olympics which needs to be cropped into 20 seconds.

Kiwi Sport
Today LS1 had kiwi sport on the field with Mr O. Today we had more of a real game of softaball. Today we had to get into partners and the partners had to choose number 1 or 2. My partner was Florence. Then the number 1's had to line up and they would be batting first and number 2's would be fielding. We did something different in this weeks kiwi sport session. The person who would be batting had the ball pitched to them by there partner. This went on until the last person who was batting then the rolls switched over so everyone got a turn to pitch and bat. Today I wasn't my best because I found that my pitching wasn't the best and so with my batting. Just before going back to my class we played a new game. One person at a time from in the line had to throw the 3 softballs and the fielders had to run and go bring them back to the cones before the thrower came back to home base.
