7 Timetables Game - (Practise/Exercise)

This week in Maths we were given a Timetables Maths game to practise our 7 multiplications using our prior knowledge. The exercises were the basic times tables, to matching the answer the the multiplication, then answering the multiplications shuffled. In each of them I was able to get a 12 out of 12 and I enjoyed this way of practising them.

NZ Transportships in WW1

A troop ship/transport ship is the source of transportation used in the world wars to get to from one place to the other. After researching more about them with my group, I was very interested in finding out that the most people carried on a ship was over 6,000 people. You can take a look at the D.L.O Nyjah, Julian, Alex and I collaboratively created about them.

The 7 Continents of the World

There are 7 continents of the world, do you know what they are? Today Nyjah and I created a D.L.O about what they are and 3 interesting facts. Doing this helped us build our general knowledge about the world and helped us learn to collaborate. In only a few minutes, my partner and I were able to create an informational D.L.O helping you understand little bit more.

Kokako Bird Infographic

L.I: To recount and explore the learning and experiences from our year 7/8 camp.
Last week the year 7's and 8's had their camp at Kokako Lodge, and this week we are doing activities based around the environment and our experience there. This first activity showcases an info graphic about the Kokako bird, which is what the place was named after. We had to include information like Diet, Habitat, Appearance, and Predators. I also included 2 facts about the general bird.

50 Words Challenge (Screen Castify)

This week for writing we worked in small groups to create our own answers in 50 words exact to why Kokako Lodge is a great place to take yr 7/8 students on camp. I worked with Nyjah and Chavda and to do this listed ideas by look at our diaries, camp photos, LS2 writing rubric, and outside the box. We were also challenged to use these language features - simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, a comma, correct beginning and end sentence punctuation, an exclamation mark, a simple, and brackets. Using any of them would earn us 5 points for one. After completing our 50 words, we had a total of 90 points. We also made a screen castify about this, and you can watch it above.
