Times Table & Area

L.I: Identify the area of a rectangle and to measure it.

I learnt about the meaning of area and how to measure it in the fastest way. Area means the squares inside a shape, in this case a rectangle. The fastest way to measure it is by using times tables. Count the amount of squares on the side and the amount of squares on the top row then times the 2.
We got a piece of the class pixel paper and made differents sizes of rectangles and squares. Then we named them a, b, c, d, e,...and etc. We glued the sheet of paper in our maths books and answered their areas below it using the times tables method. To know which equation we were answering, we name it the Letter it was put as. For example I made the square/rectangle and counted the boxes from the top and the side then put a “x” between to show that it was multiplying both the numbers when I answered the equation.

I really like the way that you explained what you did with your piece of paper. And I also see that you have done slides on your timetables, Great job! I have a question though, what happened in your nine timetables? The squares just aren't there from 2x9 to 9x9.
You've explained what you did really well but you could change it a little bit. Also, with your webcam toy photo it is hard to understand the numbers and letters because of the mirror.
    Great job on your work!
