Tech | Graphics
This week Friday was tech at tamaki college. The year 7's continued with Mrs. Ferguson in Graphics, first finishing off our DLO of games that make you think. Then Mrs. Ferguson introduced us to 3 words we would be focusing on; Dimension/Size, Tone, and Oblique. 2D Shapes have 2 sizes of width, and height, and 3D shapes have the exact same +depth. We learnt how to easily make 3D Shapes, including squares, and triangles, and tried to draw it ourselves. Then we used tones to colour them. We can control the tones by the force we use to get a lighter or darker colour, and we tested this by doing 3 shades with the pencil from light, medium, and dark. We first tried it with a pencil, then used any colouring pencil making the top of the cube light, the side of the cube dark, and the front medium. I enjoyed trying to make the shapes look 3D, and using tone to help that. Today the year 7's also received their wood work creations from the last rotation. I am really happy with my bird-house, and can't wait to take it home to show my family.
