Today LS1 had Kiwi Sport - Run, Jump, Throw in the hall with coach Andy. The first thing we did was talk about what we did and learnt last week. After the discussion we played - Here, There, Where, Everywhere! Andy would shout out here, there, where, or everywhere and we would have to move to the cones that she shouted. If you were in the wrong space, then you would be out. Then we played another game which you had to get into to partners. My partner was Sakina. We were in 2 different lines and had cones a distance away from each other then when we heard a clap from Andy we had to react quick and try to be the first to get our cone and bring it back. Sakina and I had all draws. Lastly we learnt starts. In a sprint race they say - On your mark, Set, Clap/Gun sound. In a distance race they say - On your mark, Clap/Gun sound. We started of by taking a big step behind the line, then when said - On your mark you have take a step forward and act is if you are "squishing a bug" to get your foot as close to the line. If your foot is pass the line you will be disqualified. Then when said - get set you bend the front foot forward so that the leg behind will automatically have the heel off the ground. Then once you hear the clap, then go. Then we had a quick conversation about what we learnt, then went back off to class.
