The Seven Sisters Summary (Matariki) | Activity 2 (Day 4) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 3

This story depicts a telling of the Seven stars of Matariki and their story. Long ago, a few brothers came across 7 beautiful women who they would Mary for themselves. One brother did not fall for these suspicious women's beauty and realised something his brothers didn't, they were fairies. Later he's curiosity was proved right after catching them one day, discuss a plan to starve his brothers after they left the village and their husbands. After telling what had happened, he gained help from his brothers to get rid of them and captured them in their bird for with nets. He finally took them away far in the heavens and night sky where the women stayed and their beauty would only shine once a winter solstice.

This was Activity 2 of Day 4 for Week 3 of the Summer Learning Journey programme. For this Activity to be completed, I had to summarise the story book of the Seven Sisters in 6 to 8 sentences. I had to first watch a clip about a lady reading her book about it so I could summarise my short story off of what she had said. I completed my summary of 6 sentences.
