Activity 3: ‘Dear Jacinda’

For this last day 1 Summer Learning Journey activity for week 2, we wrote a letter to Jacinda talking about an important issue in New Zealand. It could be about education, health or welfare, or maybe a controversial topic. I chose Child Poverty in NZ, which covers education and wealth. The reason I chose this was because I know many children not only in New Zealand but all around the world, suffer from poverty, and aren't able to be a kid and live their lives freely. Children are more likely to live in poverty than adults. Child poverty is children not being able to sustain or afford for basic needs.

  4. Hi Victoria!
I loved your D.L.O about the letter you would send to Jacinda Ardern. I think that child poverty is a big issue in NZ due to the amount of kids being put in other homes due to their parents on low cash.
    Keep up the great work!
    Blog you later!

  5. Hi Victoria,
I liked how you were very respectful in your letter, and mentioned some very interesting points. I found it interesting that 15% of children are living in poverty, do you mean 15% of children in New Zealand or all around the world?

  6. Hej Victoria,

Yes child poverty is a big issue!! It's saddening and wish that there was just....no poverty! Unfortunately, in a world like this we won't be getting there anytime soon. :(

I love the way you have written your letter. It's very informative and sounds a bit professional! Kudos to you!

    Sincerely,
    Riiana
