Summer Learning Journey- Wellington

`If I were to visit Wellington the capital city of New Zealand I would love to see the Beehive  first with my friends and family because I have heard a lot of information about the Beehive and I think it would be reasonable to see it first. Then maybe go shopping at Good As Gold to see their taste in style. After that I may  just relax at a beach because why not?. Maybe even more but so far I would do all these 3 things first.

  1. Hi Victoria,

I'm so glad that you're interested in seeing the Beehive as it's such an important and unusual government building!! It would so worthwhile to see the parliament when visiting the capital city!! I hope you can have a trip there some day!!

And you mention that you'd like to see the styles available in Wellington - I wonder if they're very different than Auckland. It would be fun to find out, wouldn't it?

I visited Wellington a long while ago and the thing that I noticed the most was how steep the streets are. I found it took a good fitness level and strong legs to climb up and down the hills in the city! But it was worth the effort. It is a beautiful city.

    Enjoy your blogging!!

  2. Kia ora Victoria,

I do hope that one day you get the chance to visit Wellington. It is a beautiful city with a lot of amazing places to visit. I enjoyed seeing your reasons for wanting to visit, and I like that you want to go with friends and family!

My brother lives down in Wellington, so I try to visit whenever I can. I can tell you that the Beehive is a very interesting place to visit, and you can go on free tours every day. There are lots of interesting shops, especially on Cuba Street! I would definitely recommend you check that out too.

Although the weather can be temperamental at times, on a good day you can't beat Wellington in the sunshine. One time I went out to a place called Red Rocks which is a very wild and rough beach, but on that day it was sunny and there were hundreds of seals basking in the sun! They were all over the rocks trying to find the best spot to sunbathe.

    Keep up the awesome blogging!

    Dan.
