Activity 2: Discovering Aotearoa

Today we are starting the first official week of the Summer Learning Journey. This is the second activity for day 1. We had to create a DLO or something about our Cultural. I am Tongan, and I get it from my Mom's side of the the family. Read more about me and my Cultrutal in this presentation.

  2. Hey Victoria!
I loved reading your blogpost about you cultural background. I loved reading about your Heilala celebration, us Samoans also have a celebration called White Sunday. I think you just need to fix your tense for the sentence "Found out more" Change Found to Find.
    Keep up the great work!
    Blog you later

  3. Kia ora Victoria,

Kai pai on a great start on the Summer Learning Journey! I know the Manaiakalani team are so excited to have you and your peers on board. I have just completed my degree in teaching. If you want to learn more about me check out my blog! Have you done this programme before?

I have to agree with Florence, I also loved reading about the Heilala celebration. I have never heard of the Heilala festival, but after reading your blog I know a lot more than I did before. I haven’t been to your country Tonga yet either, but I have friends from there. I really would love to visit one day and swim at the beautiful beaches.

Once again, thank you for creating such an awesome blog post Victoria. I am glad you are joining us again this year :)

    Cheers,
    Georgia

  4. Malo E Lelei Victoria,
I really enjoyed reading your blog post and observing your work that you have completed. I like how you added the cultural event the Tongans do known as the "Heilala". Did you find anything hard about this activity?

Great blogging and Keep it up!

  5. Hi Victoria,
I liked how you said that you're a proud Tongan and love your country. I found it interesting that there's a ceremony for women to express their culture and selves in Tonga. Do you think you would partake in one of those one day?

  6. Hej Victoria,

How do you come up with so many creative ideas to decorate your slideshows?

I've enjoyed reading your cultural background! It's unfortunate that you have not visited your family over in Tonga. When would you like to visit Tonga?
