Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can, we were looking at emotions and how we express them. Our theme is resilience, which means to get back up and keep trying. To warm up, we gave 10 other people high-fives, and tried explaining how it made us feel. I felt in a hurry to get 10 even though it didn't really matter. We discussed the feelings we might feel, when we might feel it, and what shows that we are feeling it. Our activity was a role play using no words. In small groups, we were given a piece of paper with a scenario to act out together. Chavda, Florence, Fui, Nyjah, and I were given "On stage at a talent show". We would have to somehow show what emotions could be expressed by this. We showed this by Nyjah and Fui (the contestants), preforming a dance in front of Chavda, Florence, and I (the judges). The contests would then show their feelings of sadness, and anger. We all came back after everyone's acting, and discussed what feelings were shown in each one, and what was going on.

Inferring (Thoughts and Emotions) | For the Birds
L.I: To infer thoughts and emotions.
This week for reading we watched a short film from Pixar called For the Birds and inferred emotions and thoughts that we spotted in situations of the clip. This was an interesting and funny video to watch for the whole class. The whole class first did a few examples on a D.L.O, before we then had to go away in our reading groups and make one inference to start ourselves off. The inference my group and I made was "Confusion" because the looks on the birds faces. The layout of our slides on the presentation had to be the time stamp included, the emotion, a photo of the time, and your inference with proof. In total on my own, I made 5 inferences.

Kiwi Can
Today LS1 had Kiwi Can. In Kiwi can we played 3 activities. The first activity we played was selfie stick. We were giving an emotion an tried to act out that emotion while pretending to take a selfie with the yellow stick. Everyone had to co-operate when acting out the emotion. We then sorted out papers which had different emotions from good, to bad and tried ordering from what we thought was the bad to the good emotions. The order was checked buy Mr Malu, and if we were wrong we corrected ourselves and put them in the right places. Lastly we had GKQ which stands for General Knowledge Questions. Then after Kiwi Can we went off back to class.

Kiwi Can: Emotions
LI: To learn how to Share and act out different emotions.
We learnt how to express different emotions we feel and give our ideas on what we think on how and why we can feel different emotions. In Kiwi Can we played 2 games. We were learning about emotions and feelings. The first games was emotional instrument. For this game we were split into 4 groups. In my group I had Matthew, Liane, Akuhata, and Xavier but to show that we had a group of four and what we did, we took the photo with, Nyjah and Chavda. We were given a emotion and had to act it out while playing an instrument then let the other teams guess. The second game was called emotional statue. We got into pairs. My pair was Sakina. For the first round we had to choose a person to be the creator and the other person to be the statue. For the first round sakina was the statue, and I was the creator. The creator had to move around the statue to make them seem as if they are feeling an emotion. The first emotion was angry. The photo on the left is the position and face I put Sakina in.
Then the second emotion was sad. In the right photo it shows the position and face Sakina put me in . The chant we learnt was - Kiwi can says… Emotions are what we feel, so let others know, what’s the deal :)
