Ciao, my name is Victoria! I’m a year 8 student at Panmure Bridge school, and also the Manaiakalani Leader for 2020. I really love music! One of my current artists I’m listening to is Doja Cat, and J. Cole. My favorite subject in school is writing and reading, because it’s really fun to write my own stories and read fictional books...Roald Dahl is one of the best authors! My goal for this year is to get my gold badges. I hope you enjoy exploring my page!

Media Construction: Gimmicks | Co-Co Crunch Cereal
L.I: To identify gimmicks used to attract and persuade people to purchase the product.
This week for Cybersmart we re-capped what media is, and examples of it. For this session we looked at gimmicks which are used when advertising product, to get people to purchase it. It usually depends on the audience they are aiming the product for, like kids. To show our learning and understanding of the usage of gimmicks, we went on a site where we could create our own website advertisement for a cereal brand using some gimmicks. The name of the cereal was "Co-Co Crunch". We could pick a gimmick to use for specific parts it needed. This helped us actually create one to get a better understanding. In the end we used the photo to help explain the gimmicks in it. Our creations weren't real advertisements for the cereal, but would help us get a better idea of what it was about. You can check out a photo of my advertisement website I created above and check out the site used below.

What is Media? | Smart Media
This week for cybersmart we have been learning about smart media, and what media is. Media is using social apps, websites, devices, or any other to connnect with others or discorver more information about a specific category or a topic you want to learn about. Media can be technology like phones, computers, ipads and other gadgets or devices. It is everywhere and used all the time. Media can even be billboards, notices, posters, newspapers, almost anything that contains info or such is a media. Media is everywhere, it can be public, social, online and more too. Some media that I consume everyday could be like google docs, sheets, slides, and draws for when I might be doing work or putting a link on the must do task list. I also go on blogger which is where I post my work i've completed. I go on youtube aswell to watch videos or listen to music, I also play a few video games on my phone or chromebook.

Blog Commenting
Today I commented on Raera's blog post. I commented on her Whakatauki post. I think she did a fantastic job. I also finished coming up with a team Whakatauki with my group. I really liked her Whakatauki her and her team came up and how it relates to them as a team. I also like their emblem they made as well. I just wanted to know if she found coming up with a Whakatauki hard in anyway because my team did struggle for a bit before coming up with it.

Device Skills & Shortcuts
L.I: To learn and use use core digital device skills.
This week for Cybersmart we talked about different device skills and shortcuts. We talked about all the different short cuts that we can use and tried a few of them out. We had to get into pairs or groups. My pair was Vayan. We had to make a copy of a google slide which had different shortcuts on it for us to try and we had to explain what happened after we did it. Some of them were just skills aswell. There were 7 differents shortcuts/skills. The pairs and groups had to help each other since some people don't know and haven't used the short cuts and skill before. The 7 different things we practised were - Ctrl + x and Ctrl + v, Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v, Ctrl + Shift + v, Ctrl a, Ctrl + z and Ctrl + y, and Ctrl + k.

Today I commented on Mojtaba's blog. I commented on his Winter Olympics post. I also did the activity he did. I liked how he attributed all of the images that he use. I also thought it was good how he listed all of the disciplines since a lot of people linked it to a site but that it a very good idea as well. I just wanted to know who he worked with since we all had to work in teams to do this inquiry activity.
