Kiwi Can

This week we had Kiwi Can with Ms. Pee ho, and Ms Page. Our new theme is Integrity, and our topic focus is honesty. Integrity means to do the right thing even when no one is looking, and honesty takes
a big role in that. Telling the truth betters you and others, even if it is hard to get out. To get us warmed up, we first played three sports. The actions were shooting a basketball, karate kick, and fists. This was fun, but we only had a few rounds of it. Our main activity of the day was role playing. Whatever our idea was, we had to include showing integrity somehow. My group was Chavda, Florence, Pua, Neveah, and Jonathan, and our idea we were given window. Our acting was about 4 people tossing a ball to each other, but one throws it too aggressively and causes to break the window of another persons house. The owner came out and asked who did it, but to only receive lies from all but 1. Jonathan owns up to his mistakes, and everything was okay. It was interesting watching everyone else role plays for their idea that they were given, and I learned that our truth affects others around us. We finished our Kiwi Can session with a game of GKQ (General Knowledge).

Kiwi Can

This week Wednesday we had Kiwi Can in room 7 with Mr. Matt and Ms. Page. Our new topic is Respect for the environment and our theme is respect. First we had a little discussion of what environment means and how we can respect it. The first thing we did was our energiser which was called Snake. The volunteered tagger would have to crawl and squiggle on the floor, attempting to tag the other people. If you were tagged, you had to be a snake as well and try to tag the other people too until their was the last person standing. Then we played  one more round before coming back to the mat. The next things we did after another discussion, we played our activity which was Tic Tac Toe on chairs and with people. We got into groups of 5 and one group of 6. My group was of six and was of Florence, Alayah, Sakina, Miiana, Sulia, and I. Our group name was Islanders. Two groups versed at a time and in the end, The Footballers team won the rounds. We finally came back and talked abuot our theme and topic once again and share ideas on it. We finally ended the lesson of Kiwi Can by having a game of Master which was like GKQ (General Knowledge Question). The master from last week was Sandra which she started off the game. We finally said goodbye to Mr. Matt and Ms. Page. after the circle went around completely and there was only one winner

Kiwi Can

This week we began our first session of kiwi can with a new theme and topic. There was also a new leader to cover for Ms. Lily, who was Ms. Page. Our theme is respect and our topic is for our school. Under respect we are learning about values and what respect means. Values can be for our school, or anywhere else. Respect means to appreciate, care, and accept the things and people around us.

We first got straight into our energiser which was was called Rules vs No rules. For this, we played a game of tag without rules and then with the rules. For the first round we played without rules where everyone was the taggers and even if you were tagged, you could continue tagging other people. At the end of that game, everyone thought without rules it wasn't a proper game of tag and it was unfun.

Then we played the round with the rules where Mr. Mat and Ms. Peho went around tagging people with a pool noodle. If you got tagged you had to sit on the lino whilst you wait for everyone else to be tagged to finish the game. In this version of playing, everyone thought it was fun bu more difficult which makes it a proper game of tag. We also played another round where we had to hop which made it more harder too.

We came back to the mat and discussed discussed values we have in and out of school. Then we split into four groups to begin our activity. One person from each group went up to find out what the activity was about and tell the rest of their group. It was a scenario where there was a shared lunch but two students didn't bring any food. We could make an act where we did the version of a bad acceptance and good acceptance. In my group was Florence, Ellenora, Miiana, and Angelica, and we all decided to do re-enact a good act for the scenario. The other groups decided to do the bad version of how the scenario went. After everyone was finished preforming the short acts, we talked about what happened in them, then came back on the mat to finish up the lesson.

We lastly had a game of GKQ which stands for general knowledge questions and the last master started the game off with any person then going any direction from there. The master for last term was Fanini. Each of the leaders would ask questions and whoever was the first to answer between the two won, and continued playing to verse the other people until the last person. In the end me and Ms. Page versed, and I had won the battle. We finally re-caped what we did and the new themes and topics before saying goodbye to everyone and heading off back to class.

Kiwi Can

This week Wednesday, we had another kiwi can session in room 7 with Mr Matt. Our theme is Resilience and our new topic is Perseverance which means try your best and pushing through.

Our energiser was called Add on. We had to play rock, paper, scissors but on the third time, we could put up as many fingers as wanted. Two people played at a time and with how many fingers you put up, you had to add on with the number of the other person's fingers. If you bet that person, you could continue around the circle and play with other people. When you got out, you had to sit down. Some people got frustrated at trying to add it quickly. Then in the next round you could use two hands if optional and you could trick people.

Then we played our activity which was a card game called no frustration. We were split into four groups and given a few cards to create a tower in anyway. It didn't have to be the tallest, it could be made in anyway and you could make it look good as well. We had only 5 minutes to finish off the tower with our group. When we only had a bit of time left and some people got frustrated because it would fall down and they had to start again. The point of the game was to try not to get frustrated.

Lastly we had GKQ and played master where someone started and went around. Two people versed one another at a time and who ever got it right carried on in the circle and the other person sat down. We finally finished off the session by doing the points and adding the points for our score. We said our bye chant and did the actions, then went back to class.

Kiwi Can

This week Wednesday we had kiwi can in room 7 with Mr Matt and Ms Lily. Our theme is resilence and our topic is goal setting. First we recaped what we talked about last week then had our energizer. For this weeks energiser we played Snatch. One of the other teachers went around giving someone each part of a rope. Then we had to set it down on the floor infront of us. Mr Matt put some cones in the middle of the rope and spread them out. The rules were we couldn't dive in or else we were out, and we couldn't go on our knees to go get it. Ms Lily played music and we had to go around the rope anti-clock wise. When the music stopped, we had to try and grab a cone to not get out. If you didn't get a cone in the end, you were out and you had to sit on the side. If you and someone both grabbed the cone at the same then you and tio rock, paper, sisccors for it. We started with one practise round and then started the real games. The last two people standing were Andrew and Matthew. When the music stopped, Andrew quickly grabbed it just before Matthew and one the game. I enjoyed the energiser Snatch but didn't like when I went to get the cone because I scrapped my knees on the floor trying to get a cone which caused me to get out and it hurt for a short while. Then we came back on the matt and talked about goal setting and what it means. Goal setting is creating creating something you want to achieve. We also talked about how we can celebrate when we complete a goal. A lot of people had great ideas like having a party, spending time with family, or treating your self with some sweets. Then we played our activity which was octopus. The girls stood around one side of the room, and the boys stood around the other. Mr Matt stood in the middle holding two pool noodles and standing in a hoop. He couldn't move and had to try and get people with the pool noodle from where he was standing. If you were tagged by him then you had to stay where you were when you got tagged and try to get other people. Ms Lily would say something for the girls and boys to do and you had to get across to the other side without getting hit. For example, she might have said crawl, then we had to crawl to the other side. This game was also veyr fun and the last person standing was Lorenzo. We lastly came back on the mat and had GKQ which is General Knowledge Questions. After GKQ we did the points. We got 5 for each one but 3.5 for respect. We said goodbye to Mr Matt and Ms Lily then went back to class.

Kiwi Can

This week Wednesday we had kiwi can with only Ms Lily in room 7. We had to get into 4 lines. I went to the P.E shed for Ms Lily and got some balls for the games we would be playing in a game later. The first activity we played was clap. Ms Lily stood up on a chair and we all stood up and found a place to stand. When Ms Lily put her hands in we had to clap, when Ms Lily put her hands out we had to clap, and then if she put her hands out we couldn't clap. We also talked about good choices we make at school and other places. After that we went outside and play protect the Jedi with pool sticks, hoopla hoops, and the balls from the P.E shed I got. For this game we needed to pick a "captain/Jedi" for the team. The captain/Jedi had to stand in the middle of the hula hoop with a pool stick. The were two sides for each of the teams which is were they were allowed to go. A row a balls were set in the middle so that when Ms Lily said go, each team ran to get a ball. The teams had to get a ball and try to get the other team out. I was in team 2. The teams had to hit below the waist with the ball and not above the waist. If you got hit, then you were out and you had to sit down where you were. The captain or Jedi had to tap you with the pool stick to get you back in the game. If you got the captain out the whole to was automatically out. My team won after Matthew hit the captain/Jedi. Before we could go back inside, have GKQ and say goodbye to Lily, the bell rang. Integrity means to do the right thing even when no one is looking. Making good choices is doing the right thing.

Kiwi Can

This week we had Kiwi Can in room 7 with Ms Lily and Mr Matt. First we got into 3 lines and talked about this terms topic and theme. The theme is Integrity and the topic is making good choices. The first activity we played was opposites. Opposites mean the reverse way of something or something different  from the other. In this game everyone had to spread out in the class but made sure we had enough space to move and stretch out arms out. When Ms Lily did an action we had to do the opposite of it like if she put her arms out we put our hands in, if she put her arms up then we out our arms down, if she step forward we steeped back, and etc. It was a bit confusing and if you did the wrong action or even hesitated then you had to sit down. Then we came back to the mat in 3 lines again and talked about good choices, how and when we make good choices, what integrity means, and how we can show integrity. Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is looking. A one example that were given on how we can show integrity is picking up rubbish or trash without anyone having to tell you. Making good choices can be picking what is best, picking good over bad, or doing something with a good outcome. A few examples and ideas given for how we can make good choices in class is listen to the teacher and respecting others in class. Next we went outside and played terminator tag which is like everyone is it but when you are tagged and your tagger gets out then you can stand back up again. After 2 or 3 rounds we went back in class and had GKQ which is general knowledge questions. In the end the kiwi can leaders gave us points and in total the score was 21 for this week.
