Ciao, my name is Victoria! I’m a year 8 student at Panmure Bridge school, and also the Manaiakalani Leader for 2020. I really love music! One of my current artists I’m listening to is Doja Cat, and J. Cole. My favorite subject in school is writing and reading, because it’s really fun to write my own stories and read fictional books...Roald Dahl is one of the best authors! My goal for this year is to get my gold badges. I hope you enjoy exploring my page!

Tech | Graphics w/ Mrs. Ferguson
This week Friday at tech, the year 7's began creating 4 3D game designs on paper. Mrs. Ferguson showed us her 3D game creations of Tic Tac Toe, Checkers, Tower of Hanoi, and a flexible plastic dinosaur and squid. As my ideas, I drew a Tic Tac Toe Board with the x's and o's replaced with apples and bananas. Then I drew a 5 x 5 puzzle of a fruit bowl. My third I idea I was able to get down was a connect for with small pictures on the front of the plastic circles. I am planning on doing my first idea, because I really enjoyed playing with the 3D Tic Tac Toe that Mrs. Ferguson made.

Tech | Graphics
This week Friday was tech at tamaki college. The year 7's continued with Mrs. Ferguson in Graphics, first finishing off our DLO of games that make you think. Then Mrs. Ferguson introduced us to 3 words we would be focusing on; Dimension/Size, Tone, and Oblique. 2D Shapes have 2 sizes of width, and height, and 3D shapes have the exact same +depth. We learnt how to easily make 3D Shapes, including squares, and triangles, and tried to draw it ourselves. Then we used tones to colour them. We can control the tones by the force we use to get a lighter or darker colour, and we tested this by doing 3 shades with the pencil from light, medium, and dark. We first tried it with a pencil, then used any colouring pencil making the top of the cube light, the side of the cube dark, and the front medium. I enjoyed trying to make the shapes look 3D, and using tone to help that. Today the year 7's also received their wood work creations from the last rotation. I am really happy with my bird-house, and can't wait to take it home to show my family.

Technology Evaluation | Village Invaders
L.I: To learn about earthworks and fortification and examples in history.
This week for Inquiry, we had to answer a few questions about what we have been learning about and create D.L.O to describe the technology used in our game and explain why our group chose each technology. Also to put the questions and answers in our D.L.O. Since Sakina and Farzana weren't here, Nicole and I decided to make a presentation and were able to complete it in the same day. We had to talk about the game we created technology for called Village Invaders and talk about the evolution. We included images and explained the materials and how to play the game as well.

Ramparts | Fortified Structures
L.I: To learn about earthwork fortifications and examples in history.
This week for inquiry we had to choose a technology to focus on that was used in history. Either a Hillfort, Ramport or a Trench. First we played a battle game in groups of four people that two could be defenders and the other two were the invaders. The defending team had to protect the treasure and the invades had to try to steal it. Once they have, they had won. This game was played with paper that had a template of squares on it and a few counters. I played this with Farzana, Nicole, and Sakina. Then in these same groups we had to choose a technology from hillfort, ramport, or a trench and write about it on a google presentation. In the end, that technology would be an addition used in our game. We chose to do a Ramport. We had to have 5 slides and each person in the group would have to say something when we finally present the finished presentation infront of the groups. In the presentation we had to includ info for what our technology is, and two historical examples and the name of the location and also when it was used.

Compare Contrast - Piece & System
L.I: To identify the differences and the same between a piece of technology and a technological system.
I learnt to give information about the difference of a system and piece of technology by talking about what it does or has and what they both have in common. A piece is something that isn’t moved without you doing it, and a system is used with a power or has to be connected to power to work.
My partner and I picked 2 objects in the classroom, one system and one piece. Our system was a fan and our piece was a window. We put what the differences and the same on a compare and contrast template. One of the obvious things that are the same between them both is that they both project air. Just for example I placed a picture of the things to give you the image what kind of fan and windows we’re talking about.
