Kiwi Can
This week Friday at Kiwi Can we talked about Role Models and some examples of who these people might be. I think a Role model is someone who we can look up to and support them and their values. Some of my role models are my family because they set realistic goals, examples, and standards for me. Our energizer was called "Hammer it", and it was a fun game we played in pairs. We continued playing until there was only one person left who would be the winner, this person was Giovanni. Our activity was all about teamwork and collaboration, it was called "picture it". My group, Fau, Matthew, Karlos, Liletina, Tanisha, and I earned one point. We had to create a picture using our bodies and including everyone in it. We ended off the session with a game of GKQ!

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can we talked about what Leadership is and our personal Role models. Someone that I might look up to is Jacinda Ardern, because she has really good values as the prime minister and she has really built a successful life for herself. Our energizer was bop it, and it was really exciting to see who was going to win.

Kiwi Can Reflection
This week Friday we had our first session of Kiwi Can in the theater, with Ms. Grace and Mrs. Mac. Today we were looking at fairness and fair play, so we talked about some words like empathy, curtesy, consideration and common sense. Our energizer was called change places, it was something to get us warmed up and excited for learning. For this game we got into a circle while one of the Kiwi can leaders called out something that we may or may not relate to like "I like chocolate", which was actually one of the examples. Then if we related to it, then we had to change positions in the circle...if we were the last to move, then we had to sit down. In our activity we looked at empathy by acting out scenes in 6 small groups.

Kiwi Can
This week at Kiwi Can our theme is Re-silence and our topic is self-control. Our focus for today was distraction and focus. Our activity to really understand this, was a group experiment. Four people would be doing different things to the person in the middle like singing, telling a story, tracing a number on their back, and getting them to copy your actions. We each got a turn being the person in the middle and experienced being distracted. I couldn't focus on everyone, but whilst I was following Eyaka's actions, I heard Ellenora telling a story about the three little pigs, and Sela singing twinkle twinkle. Alina didn't draw anything, but her number was 3. Our energiser was something similar to the Mexican wave, but a little more complex. We were in a circle, and had to put our right hand of our left hand and leave them on the floor. We would g around doing the same hand rhythms.

Kiwi Can
This week in Kiwi Can we were focusing on motivation and what motivates us to do certain things. The first energiser we played was Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Cone. In partners, we were to compete against each other to be the first to grab the cone. One of the kiwi can leaders would say Head, Shoulders, Knees and that's where we had to put our hands. The cone was set in the middle of each two people, and they had to try to be the first to reach for the cone and successfully grab it before the other person. Next we play an activity in 3 groups. We basically played helicopter jump rope whilst passing around a ball. It was difficult trying to focus on two things at once, trying not to get hit with the skipping rope, and trying to catch the ball. Failing to do these things would've lead to an injury. I enjoyed the games we played, and we are trying to think of another catchphrase.

Kiwi Can
This week we had Kiwi Can with Ms. Pee ho, and Ms Page. Our new theme is Integrity, and our topic focus is honesty. Integrity means to do the right thing even when no one is looking, and honesty takes
a big role in that. Telling the truth betters you and others, even if it is hard to get out. To get us warmed up, we first played three sports. The actions were shooting a basketball, karate kick, and fists. This was fun, but we only had a few rounds of it. Our main activity of the day was role playing. Whatever our idea was, we had to include showing integrity somehow. My group was Chavda, Florence, Pua, Neveah, and Jonathan, and our idea we were given window. Our acting was about 4 people tossing a ball to each other, but one throws it too aggressively and causes to break the window of another persons house. The owner came out and asked who did it, but to only receive lies from all but 1. Jonathan owns up to his mistakes, and everything was okay. It was interesting watching everyone else role plays for their idea that they were given, and I learned that our truth affects others around us. We finished our Kiwi Can session with a game of GKQ (General Knowledge).

Kiwi Can
This week in Kiwi Can, we learnt about co-operation and positive relationships. The two games we played were A's and B's, and Magic Shoes. We also discussed a little about praise, negotiating, and communication. First up was our energiser, which we played out on the field outside. Everyone chose an A person, which was someone in the class and a B person too without letting anyone who you picked for each round. The point of the game is to stay as close to whoever your A person is without making it too obvious, and stay as far as your B person as you can. We came back inside, sitting in 4 rows. Next was our activity which was Magic Shoes. Our teams were the class-mates sitting in the same line as us. This was also another game played outside. We each had to get into a line behind the a cone with our team and someone at the front would start with the Magic Shoes. The point of this game was to some how get everyone across to the other side of the row of cones without their feet touching the floor as they hadn't got the magic shoes yet. After everyone managed to get across, we would sit on the other side. This was a difficult meaning that we had to carry each other. The last thing we did was score up our points, which this week we did quite well but we are still yet to reach a maximum 50.

Kiwi Can
This Wednesday we had Kiwi Can with Mrs. Paige. Our theme is positive relationships and our topic is positive communication. Our focus was tone of voice, which means how we present our voices to show how we feel. Our energiser was fruit salad. Everyone spread out around the classroom, and the leader would call out a fruit which we had to preform the action for. Apple meant we had to move our hips the left, pear meant we had to move our hips to the right, banana meant we had to bend froward, watermelon meant that we had to bend backward. We played a few rounds before coming back to the mat to play our activity. It was called positive and negative role-play. We each we split into 4 groups of 5 and one group had 6. I was partnered with Nyjah, Florence, Giovanni, and Aung Naing. Mrs. Paige gad every team a laminated card which had a scenario written on it, and we had to come up with a positive version of it. Ours said that someone misses a pass and the coach yells at the member. We practised outside our acting, and we would be playing netball but Aung Naing missed the ball. The 'coach' Nyjah, would yell at him for it and the team members (Victoria, Florence, and Giovanni) would help comfort Aung Naing. After organising our act, each group presented our cards and what we had come up with. Another thing would should have added was to get Nyjah to apologise. Everyone did great, and just before leaving the softball inter-school players came back, also teacher supervisors who went. We finished up our session and said Goodbye to Mrs. Paige and Mr. Alapati.

Kiwi Can Reflection
This week Wednesday we had our first lesson of Kiwi Sport. Our leaders are Ms. Page, and Mr Alapati. Our theme is Positive Relationships and our topic is Positive communication. First we discussed the topic and our understanding of what we will be learning. Our first activity was up, down. We had to get into a circle and when the leader said down, we had to bob our heads down but when up was said we had to look up and stare at someone. This had to show honesty and be truthful if you were out. We then went outside to play our next activities, and for the first one we needed to get into small groups of three and stand in a circle. I worked with Sakina and Florence. We each numbered ourselves off like every other group, and once a leader called out a number, that person ran around the circle. The two partners built a tunnel with their arms and body, for the runner to go through. In the middle there were only 5 hoops to stand in, but if your runner was last to get in a hoop then the group was out. The final activity for the afternoon was a trailing game. Two partners had a leader, and someone holding onto their shoulders at the back. Each pair's leader was trying to tag the other person at the back of another pair. My pair was Florence, and it was quiet hot out so we got out in the first few rounds. This game showed communication because the person at the back had to signal when someone was coming and the leader had to keep an eye out. We finished up, and said goodbye to our kiwi can leaders and headed to the fale to spend the rest of our time before going home.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday we had another session of Kiwi Can in room 7 with Mr. Matt and Ms. Page. Our theme in Kiwi Can is respect and our topic is respect for the community. First we discussed what is community and the people in our community. Then we went on to play our energiser which was Hand Ball, a game we played before. We had to get int a circle and leave a gap in our legs about shoulder width. Then we had to put one of our hands behind our back and the other in-front of the space between our legs. The other hand out was used to block since there was a ball and everyone was trying to hit it into someone else legs. If it did, you had to sit out until the round was over. In the end there were two winners, but I was lucky enough to make it into top four, before getting out. After the game, we came back to the mat and thought about our topic and theme. Then we had our activity of the session which was hand soccer. The class was split into two groups and each group had to line up on one side of the class facing the other team. Each group numbered everyone in their group. I was in group two, and I was numbered as number three. Mr. Matt would call out some numbers, and those people had to go and hit the ball that was placed in the middle, into the other teams goal to score ourselves a point. The first one to ten was the winner. Our group name was Cookie-potato, and we successfully won the game. We lastly came back to the mat and had a game of GKQ Master before saying goodbye to the kiwi can leaders and going back to class.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday we had another lesson at Kiwi Can in room 7 with Ms. Page and Mr. Matt. Our theme is Respect and our topic is Respect for the community. Our phrase to remember this is "Come in unity, for our community". Our energiser for today was called remote. The rules of the game were to follow the instructions and sit out on the side if you get out. The instructions were to listen for one of the four things he said and do them. If we hesitated or did the wrong action, we were out. One of the four things was play which was to walk around, another was to fast forward which was to speed up our walking pace, the next one was to rewind which is walk backwards, and lastly was pause which was to stay where you are and not move. Later on the game he added new action which was stop where we had to lay down on the mat. On the first round I stayed in and was one of the winners with a few other people. We then came back to that mat and talked about why our community is important, who is in our community, how we respect our community, and who is in that community. Our last thing we did was the activity outside on the netball court which was invisible tag, a game we played before. For this game we were split into two groups and each group lined up on one side. However many the leaders said had to go around the pole. They had to go around the pole and whoever was first was the one who had the invisible ball and had to go to the other side to score their team a point. If you go tagged the tagger was in and you couldn't tag them back. We finally sat down and said goodbye to the kiwi can leaders and head to class.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday we had Kiwi Can with Mr Matt and Ms Paige. Our theme is respect for our school and our Topic is respect. The first game we played was our energiser which was Centre Ball. For this game we got into a small circle and Paige numbered everyone off between 1 and 4. In the middle of our circle was a ball. If one of the leaders called a number like "3", then all of the threes had to run around the circle clockwise until they are back in there spot, and had to go through and grab the ball. Who ever was the first to get it, one. I got the ball for all my number callings. After the rounds we came back to the mat in four lines and talked about rules. Next we played our activity which was Bus stop. Ms Paige numbered 5 people and they were a group. We had to write "Boy name, Girl Name, Food, Animal, Color, and Total" on a sheet of paper. One of the leaders gave us a letter and we had to fill out as much columns as we could. If you finished everything you shouted "bus stop" and everyone had to stop writting. If another group got the same answer as you, then you get a point as 5, but if no one did then it was a 10. After adding up the points we got for each answer we wrote in the total. My group was Hosea, Diana, Xaiver and Me. In the end we got 185 points. We lastly came back to the mat to re-cap our theme, topic, and what we did, then headed back to class.

Kiwi Can
We first got straight into our energiser which was was called Rules vs No rules. For this, we played a game of tag without rules and then with the rules. For the first round we played without rules where everyone was the taggers and even if you were tagged, you could continue tagging other people. At the end of that game, everyone thought without rules it wasn't a proper game of tag and it was unfun.
Then we played the round with the rules where Mr. Mat and Ms. Peho went around tagging people with a pool noodle. If you got tagged you had to sit on the lino whilst you wait for everyone else to be tagged to finish the game. In this version of playing, everyone thought it was fun bu more difficult which makes it a proper game of tag. We also played another round where we had to hop which made it more harder too.
We came back to the mat and discussed discussed values we have in and out of school. Then we split into four groups to begin our activity. One person from each group went up to find out what the activity was about and tell the rest of their group. It was a scenario where there was a shared lunch but two students didn't bring any food. We could make an act where we did the version of a bad acceptance and good acceptance. In my group was Florence, Ellenora, Miiana, and Angelica, and we all decided to do re-enact a good act for the scenario. The other groups decided to do the bad version of how the scenario went. After everyone was finished preforming the short acts, we talked about what happened in them, then came back on the mat to finish up the lesson.
We lastly had a game of GKQ which stands for general knowledge questions and the last master started the game off with any person then going any direction from there. The master for last term was Fanini. Each of the leaders would ask questions and whoever was the first to answer between the two won, and continued playing to verse the other people until the last person. In the end me and Ms. Page versed, and I had won the battle. We finally re-caped what we did and the new themes and topics before saying goodbye to everyone and heading off back to class.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday, we had another session of kiwi can with Mr Matt and Ms Lily outside on the netball court. Today was our last week of an actual session, next week will be fun day. Our theme is resilience which is to get back up and try your best and our topic is perseverance which means to push through and to keep trying.
First our energiser was Tangled. For this game someone was in and they had to tag try to tag people. If you were tagged, you had to link arms with them or hold hands if that seemed easier. The people at the end of the link were the only people who could tag people since the middle people were linked up with the person besides them. We had practise round, and the the real round. It was a little tiring but I had fun playing it.
Our activity was called Invisible Touch. We were split into two groups and one of the kiwi can leaders called out a number, and that amount of people had to go. Whichever person from the team went around the pole first, had the imaginary ball. They had to run to the other side, but if they got tagged by someone from the other team, then the tagger person had the ball and they could run. If you got tagged by someone, you couldn't tag them back. In the end, everyone ran. This game was also a bit fun but also tiring.
Lastly we talked about the games we played and did our leaving chant for kiwi can and left back to class. This session was the last session I would attend because next week, I would be at inter school netball and not here for fun time. On that day they would add up the points and see who won.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday we had kiwi can in room 7 with Mr Matt and Ms Lily. Our topic is problem solving and our theme is resilence. Today we were talking about asking other for help when we need it. First we played our energiser which was Hoop de Hoop. We were all numbered off from 1 to 2 then each group went to one side and we had to get in a line. There were a few hoops that went around and curved so that one hoop would come to the person at the start of the line. The first person from each team had to run in the hoops until the person from each team met a hoop. They would then rock, paper, sicssors, shoot until one person won, then they could continue on running through the hoops and someone fromt he other team had to come afterwards. If you were able to get across all the hoops and on the other teams side and then you would win. Every five times someone one that would count as one pooint. In the end group one won with three points. We later came back on the mat and talked about asking for help and who we can ask for help like parents, friends, family, or teachers. Also sometimes that we struggle or are in need of help and why we ask or don't ask someone for help. We chose our activity, either mat dogeball or through the tunnel. I and the majority of the class voted for mat dogeball. We got into a circle and now we were numbered from 1 to 5. This was the game we played last week so everyone was familiar. Ms Lily called out a number and those people who were numbered that, went to the middle and everyone had to hit the ball and try to hit them to get them out, but it had to hit them below the knees. Lastly we had GKQ which is general knowledge question. Two people at a time went and you could just call out the answer if you knew it. After the kiwi can leaders gave us our points we eneded up with the most you could get, 25. We said goodbye to Ms Lily and Mr Matt and went back to class.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday we had kiwi can in room 7 with Mr Matt and Ms Lily. Our theme is still resilence and our new topic is problem solving. First we did our energiser, which was Human knot. I've played this game before and I found it a little hard. For this, we were all split into 4 groups of 7 or 6 people in it. In my group was Alice, Ellenora, Sila, Alayah, and Florence. We had to get into a small circle with the people in our group and face eachother. Then we had to put up our right hand, and find somone across from us, not next to us and hold their hend. Then we had to put our left hand up, and find someone else to hold hands with. After everyone was holding hands with two other people, we had to try and untangle our hands so they were by eachother and not muddled up in the middle. The thing was, we couldn't let go of our hands. After going over, under, turning around, we finally finished and we came first. No other team was able to finish but they might have gotten close. Next we came back on the mat, and all groups got to share the problem with it and what was hard about the game and how we solved it. Later on we had our activity, which was Mat doge ball. We played this game before in kiwi can and I thought it was really fun. We had to get into a circle and Ms Lily numbered us off 1 to 5. There was a ball included and it was similar to doge ball but we played on the floor and we had to roll the ball instead. Once they called a specific number from 1 to 5, that number had to stand in the middle and try to doge getting hit by everyone else. For example if they called 3, then all the people that were numbered 3, had to go in the middle. Everyone else would roll the bal and if the ball rolled over to someone else, they could hit it back. After everyone else got out and one person was left, they were the winners. In the end all the winners battled and the final winner out of everyone was Akuhata. Lastly we had GKQ which stands for general knowledge questions. We said goodbye afterwards and headed back to class.

Kiwi Can
This week Wednesday we had kiwi can in room 7 with Mr Matt and Ms Lily. Our theme is resilence and our topic is goal setting. First we recaped what we talked about last week then had our energizer. For this weeks energiser we played Snatch. One of the other teachers went around giving someone each part of a rope. Then we had to set it down on the floor infront of us. Mr Matt put some cones in the middle of the rope and spread them out. The rules were we couldn't dive in or else we were out, and we couldn't go on our knees to go get it. Ms Lily played music and we had to go around the rope anti-clock wise. When the music stopped, we had to try and grab a cone to not get out. If you didn't get a cone in the end, you were out and you had to sit on the side. If you and someone both grabbed the cone at the same then you and tio rock, paper, sisccors for it. We started with one practise round and then started the real games. The last two people standing were Andrew and Matthew. When the music stopped, Andrew quickly grabbed it just before Matthew and one the game. I enjoyed the energiser Snatch but didn't like when I went to get the cone because I scrapped my knees on the floor trying to get a cone which caused me to get out and it hurt for a short while. Then we came back on the matt and talked about goal setting and what it means. Goal setting is creating creating something you want to achieve. We also talked about how we can celebrate when we complete a goal. A lot of people had great ideas like having a party, spending time with family, or treating your self with some sweets. Then we played our activity which was octopus. The girls stood around one side of the room, and the boys stood around the other. Mr Matt stood in the middle holding two pool noodles and standing in a hoop. He couldn't move and had to try and get people with the pool noodle from where he was standing. If you were tagged by him then you had to stay where you were when you got tagged and try to get other people. Ms Lily would say something for the girls and boys to do and you had to get across to the other side without getting hit. For example, she might have said crawl, then we had to crawl to the other side. This game was also veyr fun and the last person standing was Lorenzo. We lastly came back on the mat and had GKQ which is General Knowledge Questions. After GKQ we did the points. We got 5 for each one but 3.5 for respect. We said goodbye to Mr Matt and Ms Lily then went back to class.

Kiwi Can
This week Thursday we had kiwi can in room 7 with Mr Matt and Ms Lily. Our topic is goal setting and our theme is resilence. First we got into our energizer which was snatch. Everyone was given a tag to put in their pocket but have part of it hanging out so other people are capable of snatching it. You stood somewhere in the class room and when Mr Matt counted down from 3 we started. People would go around and try to snatch others tags from their pocket. The winner of the first round was Alayah then in the second round it was a draw between Alayah and Viliami. I really enjoyed this game and had a lot of fun trying to get others tags without getting out myself. Then we came back on the mat in our 4 lines and talked about our new topic, goal setting. We talked about some goals we have at school and more. Then we played an activity called Ball Trouble. First we had to find a partner, it had to be boy and girl partners. My partner was Fanini. The girls lined up on one side and the boys lined up on the other, but you had to be lined up with your partner. The first to partners went, then the next, and so on. Mr Matt would give the partners something to do with the ball, like back to back which means you had to place the ball in the middle of both you and your partners back and go to the end of the room and back. Even though for some of them we struggled, we continued on and kept trying. I also enjoyed playing this game with my partner. Then some of the partners swapped over to be on one side either team 1 or team 2. I was team 2. I was very happy when Mr Matt annouced that our team one and proud of everyone's good work. Then we came back on the mat and did the scores for this week. Our total was 24 out of 25. Lastly, we said goodbye to Ms Lily and Mr Matt and headed back to class.
