Activity 2: Printing Prosthetics


For this activity we looked at a man named Chuck Hull, because he invented the first 3D printer in 1983. When the machine is given a 3D design from online, it will create it in real life by making layers in material like plastic. Now people are using these printers to do all sorts of things. One of them being to help children and adults who need prosthetic hands. We took a closer look at this, by watching a video on how 3D printed prosthetic hands are changing kids' lives. Then we were asked to share one thing we learnt, and one thing that surprised us which my answers are above.
