Blog Commenting

Today I commented on Viliami's blog. I commented on his Maori blog post. I think his blog post was great. We also did the same activities in Maori but I wanted to hear someone else's POV and what they managed to do. I liked how he explained everything that happened in simple detail and used a photo of the task that he managed to complete. I also like how he provided information he found on his research. I thought it was a good idea for him to put what Parihaka was just for people who didn't know it. I wanted to know if he found it hard looking for Parihaka on the map.

Cyber-smart | Media Construction

L.I: To identify gimmicks used to attract and persuade people to purchase products.
This week for cyber-smart we are continuing with Media Construction and learning about Media, and gimmicks. This week is our last week focusing on this subject. For our lesson we had to look at a few questions about the co-co crunch cereal and media. We had to think about who created this media product, what is its purpose, what do its creators believe about their products and customers that are shown in the content and discuss with our peers. Then we chose our own media in the school and answered who created the media product, what is its purpose, and what are some of the ways you attract your audience. I chose a notice which is a form of media that we get almost every week.

Blog Commenting

Today I commented on Angelica's blog. I commented on her Character Web blog post. I think she did good job. I was curious to know what she has been doing for her reading. I've also used character web before around last year to a Roald Dahl book. I like how she explained in a brief description what to do when filling out one or creating one. I also liked how the D.L.O was simple and clear for viewers to understand. I'd like to know what book she picked the character to do from since she didn't mention it in the blurb.

Blog Commenting

Today I decided to comment on Fau's blog. I commented on her emotive language post. I think Fau did superb with her poster she created about emotive language. I know about this type of language because it is used when writing persuasive texts and is what we are learning about. I really liked how Fau included a variety of examples for a list of emotive words, and an example of an emotive language sentence. This gives people a better understand and an idea of emotive words/language. I also liked how she used images to go with her texts to make it more interesting. I wanted to know if she finds it easy to turn a regular sentence or informative sentence into a emotive one.

Blog Commenting

Today I decided to comment on Charlize blog. I commented on her Foundations blog post. I thought her and her group did an amazing job on working to create the presentation I am in a different group than her so I thought I could learn about what they are doing by looking at her work. I was really surprised by the good work and all the image refrences. In the first slide they explained what types of foundations there are then in different slides they showed what they looked like. I really liked how well they put the presentation together and how the images they created themselves are clear and neatly done. I also asked Charlize how did they found out what the foundations looked like and if they re-created them from the videos they watched or just put examples of them for the images of the foundations.

Today I decided to comment on Chris's blog. I commented on his Angles blog post. I thought he did a good job. I also learnt about angles and created a D.L.O showing them with objects. I really enjoyed looking at the items Chris found to represent the angles. I also seen how he used maths words like "estimate" in his blurb. I liked how he explained what the degrees are of the angles that he did.

Smart Media | Word Cloud (How does my blog potray myself?)

L.I: To think about how our blog potrays you.
This week for cyber-smart we had to create a list of words on wordcloud we think our blog might potray us. First we went back and edited the wordclouds from last week and added or changed the words up. Then we had to make a new wordcloud for this week sharing ideas of a list of words we think people might think of us when they see our blog. We planned out a whole bunch of words first thinking about how the school blog portrays us and gave ideas for that. The LS1 bloggers are Chris, Farzana, and Sakina. After making the wordcloud we had to put it on our Smart Media slide. I used up to 35 words and used the shape of a message because I thought it suit the theme of what we were learning about.

Blog Commenting

Today I decided to comment on one of Kaitlyn's blog post. It was her Myths, Legends, and Fairytales post for reading. I think she did a great job. I've done this reading task too and liked her detailed and descriptive blurb. It was als good that she explained what self monitoring is. She made her blurb very descriptive and described a lit in her blurb what things were that she talked about.

Media Construction | Wordcloud List & Suitable Images

L.I: To identify the purpose of the information presented in media.
L.I: To understand that media is made for purpose.
This week for cyber-smart we discussed amongst other peers about what we think the purpose of the infromation in media and created wordclouds of words that describe what we see in images of our self we put suitable for school and for friends/family. First we watched 2 videos and looked at a site. It was an advertisment, a trailer, and an news site. After listening to one of the articles on the news site or watching one of the videos, we had a small talk with other classmates about the purpose of the media. Then in the end the class shared some of their ideas. Then we created a copy of a google presentation of the smart media: media in construction D.L.O. Then we went down to one of the slides and uploaded two images of ourself, one suitable for blog/school, and one suitable for friends or school. Then we created wordclouds for each images listing words that describe what we see in both the images.

Blog Commenting

Today I commented on Farzana's blog. I commented on her Dialogue & Monologue blog post. I thought her work was great. I've created a similar blog post about dialogue and monologue too.I liked the description of the scene in the first slide and also the short summart of the video that she watched in the blurb. I really enjoyed reading the conversations between them and their thoughts if they were alone. I was curious and asked Farzana if it was somehow difficult to think about what two people might say in a scene or what someone might think.

Smart Relationships | Netiquette Rules

L.I: To interact online in a kind, positive, and helpful way.
This week for Cyber smart we have been learning about netiquette. Etiquette is like how you act and your behavior, it is also like the rules. Netiquette is the same thing but the online version. First we watched a video that thought us some do's and don'ts of how we can be netiquette online. Then we discussed some ideas of what we got from the video and shared them. Afterwards we got into small groups of 3 and wrote down the ideas on a google presentation showing do's and don'ts. Then the whole of group B found six rules of how we can netiquette. For the must do we had to create a DLO showing the six rules. I created a google draw and used photos to make it more interesting. From this session of cyber smart I have learnt how I can be netiquette and safe online.

Blog Commenting

Today I decided to comment on Lukah's blog. I commented on his Audio book blog post. I think he did a fantastic job. I have also had to make a audiobook in writing aswell. I really liked his narration of the story he had made and I thought he did a good job for only and 18 sentence narrative. I liked how Lukah included what he learnt from the lesson in the blurb. I wanted to ask him if he thought writing an only 18 sentence narrative was hard and if recording took more than a single try.

Today I commented on Karlos's blog. I commented on his Maori blog post. I thought his work was great. I also had Maori and made a blog post about it. I liked how he explained what Matariki is because that is what we were learning about this week. I also liked how he talked about what we did in maori in a simple description. I wanted to know if he was able to complete the Maori word search and find all the words.

Cyber-Smart | Online & Retail Advantages

L.I: To identify advantages of shopping in-person and online.
This week we had cyber-smart. For cyber-smart we were talking about online and retail shopping advantages. We had to think about advantages about shopping online and in-person and write down our ideas on coggle as a group. Last week we talked about places on were you can get stuff online and in-person. I wasn't able to show all the ideas from on the coggle. Two advantages about shopping online is that sometimes when something isn't available you can buy it online and sometimes the online item is cheaper than the real item. Two advantages of shopping in-person is that if you are at a clothing store you can try on the clothing before you actually buy it and get the right product you want without the worry of being scammed.

Doraemon

This week for cyber-smart we had to create a google slide about one of the characters called "Doraemon" or "Anpanman". First we had to get into a group of 4 or 5. In my group there was Viliami, Ellenora, Sione A, and Jordan. We decided to do Doraemon. Before making the google slide, the whole class discussed the things we needed to make the google slide. Like researching and what we have to research and etc. In the slide we included information like - Who is Doraemon, What he dislikes and likes, Who invented Doraemon, and What is their medium/media.

Smart & Care Values - Co-operation

L.I: To compare Smart Values with the Panmure Bridge School Care Values.
This week for our cyber-smart session we learnt about the different smart values which are - Learning, Hope, Service, Co-operation, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Joy. Our school care values are - Confidence, Attitude, Respect, Excellence and Innovation. First we had to get into a group, in my group I worked with Farzana, Fanini, Jerome and Sakina. Then we had to create a DLO that shows how the smart values align with the care values. Our real work we had to do was to create DLO showing how smart values are used in the classroom. My group and I created a google draw. We could only choose one smart value and my group decided to do cooperation.

Cyber-smart: Organising Drive

L.I: To organise my drive.
This week for inquiry we had to clean out our drive and sort everything out into the right files. My drive was already clean. We can do this by taking the unfilled D.L.O and depending on what subject it is under by dragging it into the subject file. Our drives need to be clean because if it is not and we are looking for a specific D.L.O, we won't be able to find it because it is just floating around unfilled with all the other work you have done. However if it is filed, you're drive looks neat and it will be easy to find.
