Technology Evaluation | Village Invaders
L.I: To learn about earthworks and fortification and examples in history.
This week for Inquiry, we had to answer a few questions about what we have been learning about and create D.L.O to describe the technology used in our game and explain why our group chose each technology. Also to put the questions and answers in our D.L.O. Since Sakina and Farzana weren't here, Nicole and I decided to make a presentation and were able to complete it in the same day. We had to talk about the game we created technology for called Village Invaders and talk about the evolution. We included images and explained the materials and how to play the game as well.

Type of Text
L.I: To assess Author's Purpose and determine the reliability of information given in the text.
This week for reading we had to go on 4 different sites. We had to determine ourselves and answer the following 4 questions - What type of text is it?, What is the purpose of this text?, What is the target audience?, and is this source of information reliable for learning about healthy food and eating? This had to be done on a google slides. The DLO must also include a video or recording of you talking. I record 5 videos in total, 1 video on explaining each type of text, and 4 other videos talking about each separate site. The 6 different types of text are - Procedural, Explanation, Information Report, Narrative, Persuasive, and Recount. I also made a template of the layout showing what everything means and what everything is.

QAR Questions
L.I: To create QAR questions from an article.
Today for reading, we had to make up our own QAR questions for each type, from an article called - Niuean Sports Day. After reading the book we needed to create 2 questions for each of the type of the questions we learnt about - Right there, Think and search, Author and me, and on my own. A right there question, is when the answer can be found really easily, usually in the first sentence of paragraph of the text. A Think and search question, is when there is more than one and answer and you need to search for it. A Author and me question, is when you use the authors ideas to come up with your own answer because there is not one in the text. Lastly, An On my own question, is when you can answer a questions with an experience or opinion of yours, and you don't have to read the text to answer it.
Here is a link to the text so you can read the article that I made the questions to - Niuean Sports Day
