Polluted Rivers | Activity 2 (Day 5) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

River 1)
Name: Tukituki River
Location: Hawkes Bay

River 2)
Name: Kaipatiki River
Location: Auckland

This was Activity 2 of Day 5 for Week 2 in the Summer Learning Journey. For this Activity I had to find two other polluted rivers in New Zealand other than the Tarawera River. I had to also tell the names of the rivers, along as the location and what is being done to clean the river if that is happening. The rivers I found were Tukituki and Kaipatiki River.

Unfair or Fair Over-fishing | Activity 1 (Day 5) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

This was Activity 1 for Day 5 of Week 2 in the Summer Learning Journey programme. For this activity I had to say what I think about about the rule for over-fishing. One part of water that has been fished in too much without being replaced is called over-fished. Fishers who are caught fishing in the areas are over-fishing and as the rule, are required to pay 100,000$. I feel that this rule is fair and unfair in a way. Fishers should know better to not fish in an area of low amounts of fish. The only left fish are being caught and less would be produced. People need to owe what they have taken in payments, but I feel 100,000$ is maybe too much but just the right amount at the same time.

Short Selfie Story | Activity 3 (Day 4) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

Short Story: I think this girl is standing on a building in a country of USA taking a selfie of her in front of a town. I think she was so fascinated of the great view that you could see everything and took a photo of it. She must have been very happy to be there that she took a picture of her being able to experience it. I also think she is in the United States because if you look closely in the back you are able to see The Rainbow Bridge. She stood their so the camera could get a higher and defined view of wheres she was. At the time I think she was walking around taking a photo of other things. I even think she could have been on a tour or it was just a visit or trip being there. This girl stopped to get a selfie to remember her time at that place.

This was Activity  3 of Day 4 of Week 2 in Summer Learning Journey. In this photo I had to choose out of three selfies to explain in a short story what was going on in the picture. I had to include where they were at, what they were doing at the time, and just what was happening. I chose picture three because it looked very  interesting. To earn full points the story had to be 8-10 complete sentences which I only did 8.

Geothermal Pool Names | Activity 2 (Day 4) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

1) Toxic Green
2) Nature's Juice*
3) Grape Goop

For activity 2 of day 4 for Week 2 in Summer Learning Journey, I had to list three to five creative names for a neon green pool of water called Devil's Bath since over years people have suggested for it to have a new name. Choosing our favourite name, we had to use a star next to the name. Out of the three I listed I chose Nature Juice because it was representative of the green and was a liquid substance like juice.

Transportation to Milford Sound | Activity 1 (Day 4) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

This was the first activity for the Fourth day of week Two in the Summer Learning Journey. I had to imagine I had the opportunity and was going to visit Milford Sound. I had to choose which option of transportation I would prefer to get there from either boat, walking, or a helicopter. I would pick a boat. I wouldn't choose a helicopter because, I have a fear a heights and would feel comfortable in a small space. I wouldn't choose walking because, after a while my feet will eventually hurt and I won't be able to bare walking any longer. I would choose a boat, because I can relate and move around a lot in the big boat and I am not a bad swimmer.

Colossal Squid Equation | Activity 3 (Day 3) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

This was the Activity 3 of Day 3 in Week 2 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity I had to solve an equation of how many children and adults it would take to lift a colossal squid to Te papa. To do that I was giving the amounts of an average adult which is 25 kg and an average child which is 15 kg. The colossal squid weighs 500kg. All together it would take 17 adults and 5 children to life the squid all together. This is because 17 adults is 25 x 17 which is 425. Next there are 5 children which is 15 x 5 which is 75. Adding this two numbers you reach the answer of 500, the amount of the squid.

Burger Recipe | Activity 2 (Day 3) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

Image result for burger

Burger Ingredients:
1) Bread Buns
2) Mayonnaise
3) Lettuce
4) Cheese
5) Pickles
6) Tomatoes
7) Onions
8) Meat Patty

Today I completed Activity 2 of Day 3 for Week 2 in the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity I had to choose another favourite and write the recipe for it. One of my many favourite foods are a simple burger. There isn't one way to make a burger so I listed the ingredients to a basic burger that I would enjoy having usually. For full points I needed to not copy and paste from an online site.
