Mimosa Pudica & Venus Flytrap | Activity 3 (Day 2) - Summer Learning Journey | WEEK 2

This was Activity 3 of Day 2 for Week 2 of the Summer Learning Journey. For this Activity I had to view a list of 10 strange plants and pick two of them and list three of their similarities and three of their differences. The two plants I chose were the Mimosa Pudica & the Venus Flytrap because I knew a little bit about these two already. For extra points, we had to insert two photos of the two chosen plants.

  1. Greetings Victoria,
I love the flowers that is on your blog! My favorite planet is Rose because the shape is small or big. Out of those 2 planets which planet would you choose to put in your garden?

    Keep it up!

  2. Hi Victoria,

Thanks for sharing your blog post about your Mimosa Pudica & Venus Flytrap similarities and differences. The images sure look beautiful, but next time you should give credit to the owners of these images. The facts that you have added are brilliant. Have you ever seen any of these plants in reality? I haven't.

    Nice Work!

  4. Malo e lelei Victoria,

You have done a fabulous job talking about the similarities and the differences between these two plants. To begin with, both of their names are super unique! Isn't it pretty cool that Mimosa pudica is also known as ‘shy plant’?

It is interesting to see that you've pointed out how these plants change shape - one folds while the other one shuts close. I also learned from another student's blog that plants like Venus Flytraps are called carnivorous plants. This means that they attract small insects as a source of food, which then
    builds up the horrible smell...

Would you like to see these plants in real life? Why or why not?

    Keep up the great work,
    Susie :)

  6. Hi Victoria,
Thanks for sharing what you have learned. I really enjoyed reading your blog post this summer. I really like your choice. My choice was mostly different to yours. I really like how you choose to do your template in a table. I did mine as a Venn diagram.

Have you ever seen these plants in life?

    Joshua
